From the Pampas to Patagonia

This is Argentina in full. Beginning in the grand European boulevards of Buenos Aires — tango shows, antique markets, and the haunting beauty of Recoleta Cemetery — before flying south to the raw, end-of-the-world landscapes of Patagonia.

At Estancia Nibepo Aike you'll ride horseback through open Patagonian countryside, come face to face with the Perito Moreno Glacier, and hike to the iconic Laguna de los Tres beneath the jagged peaks of Fitz Roy. This is wilderness at its most dramatic.

From Patagonia, we head to Mendoza — Argentina's wine heartland — for a full day exploring the vineyards of the Valle de Uco, with gourmet lunches, Malbec tastings and Andean views. The trip ends with a final evening in the vibrant Palermo neighbourhood of Buenos Aires.

Hosted by Alfie with a group of just 8 guests, this is a journey that balances adventure, culture and luxury — designed to feel effortless and utterly unforgettable. This trip will change the way you see the world.

Full Itinerary

Day 1

Buenos Aires — Arrival & Welcome

Land into one of the great cities of the world. A private transfer takes you to your hotel in Recoleta — wide boulevards, café culture and the particular electricity of a city that never quite sleeps. The evening is yours: dinner nearby and a first taste of Argentine life.

Day 2

Buenos Aires — La Boca, San Telmo & Tango

A half-day guided tour through the soul of South Buenos Aires — the painted streets of La Boca, the cobblestones of San Telmo, Puerto Madero and the historic Plaza de Mayo. Lunch at your own pace, then the evening belongs to Rojo Tango: a show that earns every superlative thrown at it.

Day 3

El Calafate — Perito Moreno Glacier

A morning flight south and the landscape changes completely. By the time we land in El Calafate, we're in a different world. Transfer through the National Park and straight to the glacier — a wall of ancient ice four kilometres wide, cracking and calving into milky water below. Walkways, viewpoints, and a Safari Náutico boat that takes you close enough to feel it. Lunch inside the park at Nativos.

Day 4

El Calafate → El Chaltén — Horses & The Road North

The morning belongs to the estancia — horseback riding across open Patagonian grasslands before lunch and a transfer north. The Fitz Roy massif rises slowly from the horizon as we drive into El Chaltén: small, dramatic, and entirely at the mercy of the mountains. Dinner is yours in the village.

Day 5

El Chaltén — Laguna de los Tres

The one that earns its reputation. A full-day guided hike to Laguna de los Tres — the electric blue lake beneath the sheer granite towers of Mount Fitz Roy. The final push is steep but what waits at the top is one of the most extraordinary views on earth. Take your time. Trekking poles included.

Day 6

El Chaltén → Estancia La Bamba

We leave Patagonia behind and fly back to Buenos Aires before transferring out to San Antonio de Areco — a small colonial town in the Pampas that feels like Argentina before the world found it.

Day 7

Gaucho Experience → Mendoza

A half-day Gaucho experience at La Bamba — horses, asado and the open Pampas at their most elemental. Then we fly west to Mendoza, where the Andes rise sharply from the vineyards and the air smells different. The evening is yours to explore.

Day 8

Mendoza — Valle de Uco Wine Experience

A full day in Argentina's finest wine country. Private transfers carry us south into the Valle de Uco, where Malbec is grown at altitude and the Andes are never far from view. Tastings, tours and the kind of afternoon that slows time down. Dinner at your own leisure.

Day 9

Mendoza — Horseback Riding & Andeluna

A morning on horseback through golden Mendoza hills, the mountains on the horizon. Lunch at Andeluna Winery — long table, cold wine, mountain air. The afternoon is yours entirely. Dinner at your own leisure.

Day 10

Mendoza → Buenos Aires — Final Evening

A morning flight back to Buenos Aires, one last transfer, one last evening in the city. Dinner together — the kind of meal where the conversation drifts naturally to where we go next.

Day 11

Buenos Aires — Farewell

Breakfast and then the city is yours. A final morning to linger in a Palermo café, pick something up from San Telmo, or simply walk. Transfer to the airport when you're ready. You leave different from how you arrived — that's the point.

Optional Add-On

Iguazú Falls — The Brazilian Side

An early flight north to a different Argentina entirely — hot, lush, and almost impossibly green. Cross into Brazil and walk the panoramic trails looking out across the full sweep of the falls. Lunch suspended above the river. A slow evening back on the Argentine side.

Optional Add-On

Iguazú Falls — The Argentine Side & Devil's Throat

The Argentine side is where the falls stop being something you observe and become something you feel. Walk the upper and lower circuits through dense jungle before taking the train out to La Garganta del Diablo — the Devil's Throat — where the river drops with a force you feel in your chest. A free afternoon at the lodge.

Optional Add-On

Return to Buenos Aires & Departure

A final flight back to Buenos Aires, a last evening in Palermo, and then home. If the falls were the last thing you saw, they'll be the last thing you think about for a while.

"
We have just returned from the most epic adventure in Costa Rica led by Alfie Laurence. We had a blast — learnt to surf, whooshed down white water rapids, rode for the first time in 50 years, kayaked, visited waterfalls, hunted for elusive, mythical birds and of course ate the best food ever. Alfie's attention to detail was extraordinary. Anyone booking one of his tours is in for a treat.
Louise & Nick Beamish — Costa Rica Adventure, 2026
From pre-booking, to getting ready for the holiday, and on holiday, we couldn't have asked for anything more. Alfie's attention to detail is unmeasurable and this certainly is his raison d'être. He was so knowledgeable and passionate about the places and activities we experienced.

Our Costa Rica adventure was made truly special by our guide, Alfie. He has this incredible ability to make sure every single person in the group is happy and looked after, no matter what. His local knowledge is second to none, and it was great to see such a seamless partnership between him and our driver. What really stood out was Alfie's ability to adapt — he stayed calm, kept our spirits high, and adjusted the schedule so we didn't miss a beat.
Gabriel — Costa Rica Adventure, 2026
I've been on a lot of trips, but I have never had anyone as hard-working, charming, efficient and organised as Alfie. He is fully present from the moment he wakes up until we all go to bed.

I just wanted to put 'pen to paper' after a wonderful trip to Costa Rica. It really was absolutely incredible from start to finish. Alfie was so helpful and managed to get our group aged mid 40's to late 70's hiking, kayaking and surfing. I would highly recommend one of his trips to anyone. They are a real treat and beautifully organised. Our group were delightful and there was never a dull moment!

November is an excellent time to visit. It's spring in Patagonia — the trails are opening up, the weather is improving and the landscapes are at their most dramatic before the summer crowds arrive. In Mendoza, November brings warm days and the vineyards are lush and green. Buenos Aires is pleasant year-round but November is particularly lovely.
